Cargo & freight
Pallets, not
just parcels.
Above about eight kilograms, per-parcel pricing stops making sense. Cargo moves on the same line-haul at 0.85× the rate, and still arrives at a door rather than a depot.
- Up to 1,000 kg
- 0.85× standard rate
- Door delivery
- COD available

The crossover
Eight kilograms is where cargo starts winning
Parcel pricing loads the first kilogram with the base rate. Cargo spreads the cost across the whole weight, so the heavier the consignment the bigger the gap.
- Below 8 kg — send it as a parcel
- The parcel base rate is genuinely cheaper, and it moves a day faster. We will tell you that at the quote.
- Above 8 kg — cargo
- Priced per chargeable kilogram at 0.85×, with the same tracking and the same settlement.
- The calculator prices both
- Enter your real weight and dimensions and compare. No sales call needed to find the crossover.
Volumetric weight
The van charges for space, so we do too
A pallet of cushions weighs almost nothing and fills a third of a vehicle. Chargeable weight is the greater of actual and volumetric, and the calculator shows you both so there is never a surprise.
- L × W × H ÷ 5,000
- The domestic road-freight convention, applied consistently on every service.
- Shown before you book
- The quote states which of the two you are being charged on and why.
- Repack and save
- Tighter packing genuinely reduces the bill on bulky goods. We will tell you when it is worth doing.
What moves as cargo
The consignments this service exists for
Cargo is not just “big parcels”. These are the jobs it is priced and routed around.
Distributor restocks
Weekly or fortnightly replenishment from a Kathmandu warehouse to regional stockists.
Retail store openings
Fixtures, stock and signage moved as one consignment on an agreed date.
Exhibition & event freight
Stands and materials out and back, with the return leg booked at the same time.
Machinery & spares
Heavy, awkward and usually urgent. Crated by you, handled by us.
Furniture & fittings
High volumetric weight, low actual weight — priced honestly on space.
Bulk e-commerce
Consolidated stock into our hub, then broken down and shipped as orders land.
How a consignment moves
From your loading bay to theirs
Four stages, each with a scan, so a pallet is as traceable as an envelope.
- 1
Survey and quote
Weight, dimensions and destination. For anything unusual we look at it before quoting rather than after.
- 2
Collection
A van or pickup at your bay in an agreed window. Piece count checked against the manifest on the spot.
- 3
Line-haul
Onto the evening run in a sealed vehicle, with the consignment kept together rather than split across loads.
- 4
Door delivery
Delivered to the address, not a depot, with proof of delivery and piece count confirmed on arrival.
Worked example
A 40 kg consignment, three destinations
Standard cargo service from Kathmandu, no insurance, no COD. Every line appears on your quote before you confirm.

| Base freight (first kg) | Rs 130 | Rs 170 | Rs 290 |
| Additional 39 kg | Rs 1,755 | Rs 2,145 | Rs 3,705 |
| Cargo multiplier (0.85×) | −Rs 283 | −Rs 347 | −Rs 599 |
| Fuel surcharge (4.5%) | Rs 72 | Rs 88 | Rs 152 |
| VAT (13%) | Rs 218 | Rs 267 | Rs 462 |

Handling
Loaded properly, or not loaded
Most cargo damage happens in the vehicle, not on the road. Load order, weight distribution and what goes on top of what are decided by the hub, not by whoever is nearest the tailgate.
- Weight at the bottom
- Obvious, and the single most commonly ignored rule in Nepali freight.
- Fragile in its own lane
- Segregated at the hub and loaded last, so nothing goes on top of it.
- Piece count at both ends
- Counted at collection and again at delivery, both recorded against the consignment.
Packing
How you pack it changes what it costs
We will tell you when repacking would save you real money, even though it lowers our invoice. A distributor who trusts the quote ships with us next month too.
- Fill the void
- Half-empty cartons are charged on the space they occupy. Consolidating is usually the cheapest thing you can do.
- Palletise above 200 kg
- Faster to load, safer in transit, and it reduces handling touches to almost none.
- Label every piece
- A consignment split across six cartons needs six labels. One missing label is one piece nobody can trace.
Insurance
Rs 5,000 of cover is not enough for a pallet
Basic liability is included, and on a cargo consignment it is close to meaningless. Declared-value cover at 1.2% is the right call on almost anything moving as freight.
- Declare the real value
- Under-declaring to save the surcharge caps your claim. On one loss it costs far more than it saved.
- Fifteen working days to a decision
- In writing. An open-ended claims process is a way of saying no slowly.
- Exclusions stated up front
- Cash, precious metals and undeclared electronics are not covered, and you are told before booking.
Warehousing
Send it once. We ship it as it sells.
Move a bulk consignment into our Kathmandu hub, and we hold, pick and dispatch it as orders come in. Your regional stock stops being a room you rent and becomes a per-order cost.
- Racked with live counts
- Every SKU has a location and a count visible in the merchant panel.
- Same-evening dispatch
- Orders landing before the afternoon cut-off go out that night.
- Seasonal without a lease
- Storage by shelf-space and handling by order, so a quiet month costs like a quiet month.
Fragile freight
Glass, ceramics and screens travel differently
The 12% fragile surcharge on cargo buys a separate lane through the hub, its own shelving and last-on-first-off loading. On a pallet of tiles that is the difference between arriving and arriving in pieces.
- Never under a load
- Fragile freight is loaded last and nothing is stacked on it.
- Crating advice, free
- We will tell you how to crate something before you send it. It is cheaper than a claim for both of us.
- Photographed at collection
- Condition captured at pickup, which settles most damage disputes before they start.
Collection
A vehicle sized to the load
A rider on a scooter cannot collect four hundred kilograms. Cargo bookings dispatch a van or pickup, and for palletised loads we agree the collection window and the equipment in advance.
- Van, pickup or truck
- Matched to the consignment rather than whatever was free.
- Agreed window, not a range
- A loading bay cannot be held open all day, so the slot is fixed.
- Manifest checked on the spot
- Piece count confirmed and signed before the vehicle leaves.
Coverage
Where a truck can reach, cargo reaches
The honest constraint on cargo in Nepal is not distance, it is road. We will tell you before booking where the vehicle can actually get to, and agree a collection point if the last stretch is not driveable.
- Corridor routes daily
- Kathmandu to Pokhara, Chitwan, Butwal, Birgunj, Biratnagar and Nepalgunj every evening.
- Hill districts on schedule
- Fixed departure days rather than on demand, because a half-empty truck to Jumla helps nobody.
- Monsoon reality
- Landslide closures are announced, not absorbed silently into a late delivery.
Air freight
When the road closes, there is still an option
For urgent consignments to the far west during monsoon closures we can move to air into the regional airport and road the final leg. Quoted per job, because air capacity in Nepal genuinely fluctuates.
- Days instead of weeks
- When a road route has closed entirely, this is the difference between late and never.
- Weight-limited
- Air cargo caps are far lower than road. We confirm what will fit before you commit.
- Priced per consignment
- No published rate, because quoting a fixed price for fluctuating capacity would be dishonest.
Money
Freight settles the same way parcels do
Cargo does not get its own invoice run, its own portal or its own reconciliation headache. It is the same ledger, the same weekly transfer and the same statement.
- One weekly statement
- Parcels and freight on the same document, reconciled against the same order IDs.
- COD on cargo too
- Same 1.5% handling, same weekly cycle, same per-parcel cap.
- Credit terms for volume
- Established accounts can move to monthly invoicing instead of per-consignment payment.
What we cannot carry
Some things stay behind
Cargo attracts the awkward consignments, so it is worth being direct: there is a published list of what the network will not accept, and it is enforced at collection rather than discovered at a checkpoint.
- Checked at collection
- The rider or driver checks before loading, not after. A refusal at your bay is better than a seizure on the highway.
- Restricted, not just prohibited
- Some categories move with paperwork. We will tell you which and what is needed.
- Declare it honestly
- An undeclared item that causes a seizure voids cover for the entire consignment, including the legitimate parts.
Contract freight
Regular volume gets a real agreement
If you move stock on a schedule, you should not be re-quoting it every week. Contract rates fix the price, the departure days and the collection window for a term.
- Fixed rate for a term
- Insulated from the monthly fuel surcharge review, so your landed cost is predictable.
- Reserved capacity
- Space held on named departures, which matters when everyone ships before a festival.
- A named account manager
- One person who knows your routes, rather than whoever answers the phone.
